What is Laser Therapy?

Low level laser therapy (also referred to as cold laser therapy) uses wavelengths of light to help decrease pain and increase healing by stimulating the natural biological processes of the cells in the body. There are no side effects and very few contraindications making this treatment safe and effective for most dogs and a great alternative to other treatments on the market.

What conditions can it treat?

Laser therapy can be used to treat a variety of conditions including (but not limited to): tendon and ligament injuries, arthritis, muscle injuries and spasms (like the increasingly common iliopsoas injury), nerve damage, intervertebral disk disease, wound healing, joint conditions, hip dysplasia, degenerative myelopathy, pressure sores (decubital ulcers), hematomas, lick granulomas, hot spots, most post op surgeries (such as ACL), stiffness and muscle soreness, and much more.

Cost
Laser only (30 minutes): $50
Laser only (60 minutes): $100
Laser only (single spot - i.e. wound, 15 minutes) - $25
Add on PEMF treatment (done concurrently at the same time):+$15
Laser and Fitness Session (45 minutes - hour): $85
Laser, PEMF, and Fitness Session (45 minutes - hour): $100

What to Expect

Laser therapy can be used to treat both acute and chronic conditions. Typically just a few treatments can resolve acute conditions, but more chronic conditions can require a number of treatments over a period of several weeks. Most treatments take anywhere from 15-30 minutes, however for dogs with more chronic wide spread osteoarthritis sessions can last up to 60 minutes. Soon after the first treatment, your dog may be able to move with less pain or have a more relaxed stride and better range of motion.
